O presente artigo tem como objetivo investigar de que forma o romance Summertime, de J. M. Coetzee, se encaixa na definição de conceitos como autobiografia e autoficção. Do mesmo modo, busca-se analisar o efeito das rupturas estruturais presentes na obra, principalmente as relacionadas à questão da autoria, e seus resultados na adequação aos gêneros expostos. Nesse processo, há uma tentativa de organização das várias instâncias autorais de Summertime, evidenciando, assim, seus vários espaços literários e o caráter fragmentário da narrativa.

This paper aims to investigate how the novel Summertime, by J. M. Coetzee, fits the definition of concepts such as autobiography and autofiction. In the same way, the effects of the structural ruptures present in the work is analyzed, especially those related to the authorship question and its results in the adequacy to the exposed genres. In this process, there is an attempt to organize the various Summertime authorial instances, showing the several literary spaces and the fragmentary nature of the narrative.
