O crescimento desordenado das áreas urbanas tem despertado o homem para as
modificações na qualidade ambiental, principalmente no que se refere ao aumento da
poluição do ar, e aumento da temperatura que aliado à reduzida presença e má
distribuição da vegetação, provoca mudanças no clima local e microclimas inseridos nas
cidades. A partir da identificação desses problemas, e conhecendo os benefícios
oferecidos pela vegetação em especial de porte arbóreo, o presente trabalho selecionou
a zona central da cidade de Juiz de Fora e procurou estabelecer quantitativamente o
índice de vegetação presente na área central e sua distribuição espacial. Verificou-se um
reduzido índice de vegetação, que se encontra mal distribuída na área urbana.

The disorderly increase of the urban areas have to awaken, the man for the
modifications in the ambient quality, main oneself referring to the increase of the air
pollution and increase of the temperature that allied the to reduce presence and bad
distribution of the vegetation provoke change in the climate place and microclimate insert
in the cities. The to split of the identification of this problems, and know the benefit offer
by vegetation in especial of the arboreous transportation, the present work select the
central zone of the city of the Juiz de Fora and find to establish quantitative the index of
the vegetation present in the central area and your spatial distribute. Verify a reduce
index of the vegetation, which meeting bad dismiss in the urban area.
