O presente trabalho foi elaborado a partir dos resultados das entrevistas e questionários
aplicados aos alunos do 8º e 9º ano de uma escola pública da cidade de Sinop-MT e mostra
que o analfabetismo está presente na maioria das famÃlias pesquisadas. Este trabalho apresenta
pontos importantes para discussão da alfabetização, os quais são: os incentivos dados pelos
familiares aos filhos na formação escolar e as supostas consequências que acarretaram este
problema na sociedade atual.
This paper is a result of a survey through questionnaires with students from 8th and
9th grade of basic education in a public school located in Sinop city – MT. The result shows
us that there is illiteracy in the majority of the families researched. We present in this work
important issues to literacy discussion: the incentives given by the family to their children
during school education and the supposed consequences that becomes from this problem in
today’s society.
