Joseph Ratzinger (1927 –), conhecido também como Papa Emérito Bento XVI, é um importante teólogo que escreve sobre vários temas. Dentre suas preocupações se encontra o estudo da natureza da fé cristã e o papel desta na sociedade atual. Para ele, o cristianismo tem algo a dizer à sociedade, porque a questão dafé não é privada como se fosse um tipo de clube que possui suas preferências e faz seu jogo. Ao apresentar uma resposta para o dilema da fé no mundo atual, Ratzinger parte de uma visão da Escritura e, a partir dela, caminha em direção à Tradição da IgrejaCatólica. Deste modo, a delimitação temática deste artigo é resumir o pensamento de Ratzinger sobre a fé cristã na Escritura. É exemplo para ele a fé na vivência do patriarca Abraão. Ele também enfatiza que, no Novo Testamento, a fé é apresentada como atode Deus e ato humano, e ela está em liame ao conceito de conversão. Acima de tudo a fé é, para Ratzinger, um dom de Deus ao ser humano para este expresse seu amor àquele e seja atilado ainda a amar seu próximo na paz e no diálogo.
Joseph Ratzinger (1927 –), also known as Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI, is an important theologian who writes on many topics. One of his concerns is the study of the nature of Christian faith and its role today. For him, Christianity must explain to society why faith is not a private matter, as if it were a kind of club that has its preferences and plays its game. Thus, the purpose of this article is to summarize Ratzinger's thinking on Christian faith in Scripture. An example, for him, is the faith in the experience of the patriarch Abraham. Ratzinger also points out that faith, in the New Testament, is presented as an act of God and a human act, and it is linked to the concept of conversion. Above all, according to Ratzinger, faith is a gift from God to human beings so that they can express their love for him and be encouraged to love their neighbors in peace and in dialogue.
