This research proposes an approach between the notions of party and revolt, seeking to highlight a political power that exists in the experience of participating in events that combine these two segments. The construction of the understanding of the party starts from a notion that encompasses spheres of carnival, ritual and encounter as social interaction, thus bringing characteristics of negotiation, chaos and duality of worlds. Based on this notion, it is outlined a theoretical study, with researches that demonstrates that there is a historical relationship in Brazil, between the notion of party and political movements, through some examples of festivities held between the 17th and 19th centuries.
