O artigo discute a questão da formação paraexercício da cidadania contida no artigo 22 da Lei 9.393/1996. O problema está formulado nos seguintes termos: a Filosofia é relevante na educação básica quando uma de suas finalidades é contribuir na formação comum para o exercício da cidadania? Como hipótese de trabalho procuramos mostrar que sim e que por excelência as subáreas Éticae Filosofia Política, são indispensáveis à referida formação. A reflexão em torno do problema proposto será conduzida à luz do pensamento político de Jean-Jacques Rousseau, importante pensador da modernidade, especialmente nos campos ético, político e pedagógico.
The article discusses the issue of training for the exercise of citizenship contained in article 22 of Law 9.393/1996. The problem is formulated in the following terms: is Philosophy relevant in basic education when one of its purposes is to contribute to trainingfor the exercise of citizenship? As a working hypothesis, we try to show that yes and that the sub-areas Ethicsand Political Philosophypar excellence are indispensable to the referred formation. The reflection on the proposed problem will be conducted in the light of the political thought of Jean-Jacques Rousseau, an important thinker of modernity, especially in the ethical, political and pedagogical fields.
