Objetivou-se analisar a formação acadêmica do fisioterapeuta para atuar na atenção básica em uma Universidade na Bahia. Os dados foram obtidos através de entrevista semiestruturada em nove sujeitos, além da análise da Grade Curricular, Projeto PolÃtico Pedagógico e Quadro de Professores e suas devidas titulações. Os dados foram submeti-dos à análise de conteúdo, emergindo três categorias: Formação do Fisioterapeuta, PolÃti-cas Públicas para a Fisioterapia e Motivação do Fisioterapeuta em Trabalhar com a Aten-ção Básica. Pôde-se perceber que a formação do curso prioriza práticas curati-vo/reabilitadoras desenvolvidas predominantemente em ambientes clÃnicos e hospitalares. Percebe-se, no entanto que, é grande a distância entre o discurso e a realidade.
The objective of this article was analyze the Educational background of physiotherapists in primary care for fining at a University in Bahia.. The data were collected through semi-structured interviewing in nine subjects, along with analysis of the Curriculum, Educational Policy Project, Framework for Teachers and theirs respective titles. The data were subject-ed to content analysis through which three categories emerged: Formation of Physiothera-pist, Public Policy for Physical Therapy and Physiotherapist Motivation to Working with Primary Care. We could see that the training of course emphasizes rehabilitative practices, which are developed predominantly in hospital and clinical environments. It is clear, how-ever, that, still is big the distance between the discourse and the reality.
