Nos últimos anos assistiuse, se não a uma revolução epistemológica, a algumas transformações significativas na interpretação e escrita da História. Buscou-se superar um tempo em que se trabalhava sempre as mesmas técnicas de investigação, fontes e temas. No presente texto, a partir da concomitante experiência de trabalho como docente de ensino superior e historiógrafa do Arquivo Histórico do Rio Grande do Sul, analisa-se asvdificuldades para que o processo de renovação historiográfica penetre no ensino superior privado noturno dos cursos de História.
