O autor descreve a realidade atual da educação e da formação de professores no
Brasil. Aponta o expressivo aumento do número de alunos nas instituições, a manutenção da
baixa qualidade do ensino e analisa os modelos e os dilemas do processo de formação
docente. A partir destes e dos desafios por eles constituÃdos, o autor apresenta, Ã guisa de
considerações finais, as atuais perspectivas educacionais, assim como as estratégias de
enfrentamento dos desafios destacados.
The author describes the current reality of education and teacher training, in Brazil.
He points out the significant increase in the number of students, in educational institutions
and the persistence of low quality education and analyzes the models and the dilemmas of the
teacher education process. Considering these aspects and the challenges created by them, the
author presents, as concluding remarks, the current educational prospects as well as some
strategies of facing the challenges highlighted.
