A presente pesquisa teve como objetivos investigar como a formação e a prática pedagógica dos docentes que ministram a disciplina de Educação Ambiental nos cursos de licenciatura da Fundação Carmelitana Mário Palmério se relacionam e contribuem para a compreensão/promoção da justiça socioambiental. A pesquisa tomou como inspiração metodológica a abordagem qualitativa do tipo Estudo de Caso. A produção de informações se deu a partir da realização de entrevistas com 2 professores da Fundação Carmelitana Mário Palmério que ministram a disciplina de Educação Ambiental. Com base nas informações obtidas, podemos considerar que observamos que os professores compreendem que o trabalho envolvendo Educação Ambiental e Justiça Socioambiental deve ser articulado, uma vez que são temáticas indissociáveis. Os docentes também reconhecem a Educação Ambiental como instrumento para promoção da Justiça Socioambiental, de maneira que contribui para a redução das desigualdades. Ainda que a presente tese não esgote a possibilidade de futuras pesquisas sobre esta temática, espera-se que contribua para as discussões em torno da Educação Ambiental na perspectiva da Justiça Socioambiental.

The present research had as objectives to investigate how the formation and the pedagogical practice of the teachers that minister the discipline of Environmental Education in the degree courses of the Carmelite Foundation Mário Palmério are related and contribute to the understanding / promotion of social and environmental justice. The research took as a methodological inspiration the qualitative approach of the Case Study type. The production of information came from interviews with 2 teachers of the Fundação Carmelitana Mário Palmério who teach the discipline of Environmental Education. Based on the information obtained, we can consider that teachers understand that the work involving Environmental Education and Social Justice should be articulated, since they are inseparable themes. Teachers also recognize Environmental Education as a tool to promote Socio-environmental Justice, in a way that contributes to the reduction of inequalities. Although this thesis does not deplete the possibility of future research on this subject, it is expected that it contributes to the discussions around Environmental Education from the perspective of Socio-environmental Justice.
