This article consists of an essay that discusses the therapeutization of bodies in current urban contexts. Thus, the following text develops dialoguing with the theme according to the theoretical approaches and discussions present in the Anthropology of the body and health, above all, that anthropology that is dedicated to understanding the scientific steps of people who seek alternative medicalization of the daily life in response to the political-institutional crisis that is plaguing the country and its respective bodies. For that, I try to discuss some reflections on this subject derived from the ethnographic research that I carry out in clinics and alternative therapy centers whose different trajectories of the participating interlocutors are in the same context: the medicalization of bodies. Then, I seek to apprehend critical reflections on the contemporary transformations of the moralities surrounding the medicalization and the voluntary and individual therapy of the body itself. The following essay problematizes the newest discourses and practices that advocate agency centered on the individual when it comes to collective, political and public health impasses in the country.
