Ganga-Zumbi é um trabalho que analisa, partindo de uma perspectiva histórica, semiótica, rítmica e harmônica, a canção mineira contemporânea Ganga-Zumbi. Esta canção – composta por Sérgio Santos e Paulo César Pinheiro – evidencia um arquétipo da cultura brasileira em uma síntese que traz, em si, muitos elementos rítmicos, ritualísticos e cancionais, contando a história de um de seus personagens históricos, Zumbi dos Palmares. Têm-se por “contemporâneo” um recorte que se estende aos últimos vinte anos, e “mineiro”, um objeto centrado em sua capital, o que – de certa forma – representa eixos identitários e de produção do estado.validate with it.
Ganga-Zumbi is a work that analyzes, from a historic, semiotic, rhythmic and harmonic perspective, the contemporary Minas Gerais song Ganga-Zumbi. This song - composed by Sérgio Santos and Paulo César Pinheiro - highlights an archetype of Brazilian culture in a synthesis that brings in itself many rhythmic, ritualistic and song elements, telling the story of one of its historical characters, Zumbi dos Palmares. We delimit “contemporary” in a time lapse that extends to the last twenty years, and “mineiro”, to an object centered on its capital, which – in a certain way – represents the identity and production axes of the state.
