GEOGRAFIA ESCOLAR: A CONSTRUÇÃO DOS CONCEITOS DE MEIO AMBIENTE E CIDADANIA E A CONTRIBUIÇÃO DESTES PARA A APREENSÃO E ATUAÇÃO NO ESPAÇO GEOGRÁFICO

O componente curricular de Geografia tem sido considerado como privilegiado no tratamento do meio ambiente, contudo ocorre certa dificuldade tanto de educadores como de educandos em apreender o espaço geográfico como campo de relações entre ser humano/ser humano e deste com a natureza no processo de transformação da mesma. O meio ambiente e as questões ambientais é um tema discutido a nível mundial. Entretanto, por mais que haja discussões nesse sentido, os problemas ambientais continuam existindo e alguns se tornando mais graves e irreversíveis. Portanto, as atitudes para resolução dos problemas ambientais dependem do exercício da cidadania. A Geografia escolar, que busca formar cidadão crítico, reflexivo e participativo, pode ser uma grande aliada para auxiliar os educandos na apreensão do espaço geográfico e estes a partir disso poderão pensar soluções para os problemas existentes, atuando e mitigando estes problemas no meio em que vivem. Para isso o educador teria que sair das bases tradicionais da educação geográfica, incorporando em seu trabalho a relação teoria/prática, de modo a levar o educando a refletir sobre o meio ambiente e os problemas existentes no mesmo, investindo na prática da construção de conceitos pela Geografia escolar que pensamos ser essencial para que este componente curricular possa cumprir seu papel formador de cidadãos.

The curricular component of Geography has been regarded as privileged in the treatment of the environment, however some difficulty occurs both as educators of learners to grasp the geographical space as a field of relations between human / human and the nature of the transformation process thereof. The environment and environmental questions are topic discussed worldwide. However, much as there are discussions in this sense, environmental problems continue to exist and some becomingmore severe and irreversible. There fore the attitudes toward solving environmental problems depend on the exercise of citizenship. Geography school, which seeks to form a citizen critical, reflective and participatory, can be a great ally to assist students in grasping the geographical area and from there they can think of solutions to existing problems, acting and mitigating these problems in the environment where they live. For this, the teacher would have to leave the traditional bases of geographical education, incorporating into his work the theory / practice relationship in order to bring the student to reflect on the environment and the problems existing in the same, the practice of investing in the construction of concepts Geography by the school that we think is essential for this curricular component to meet its formative role of citizens.
