O trabalho teve como finalidade diagnosticar a situação atual da unidade de triagem e compostagem (UTC) e
verificar o gerenciamento atualmente praticado dos resÃduos do municÃpio de Bocaiuva-MG. Os dados obtidos
em levantamento de campo, informações coletadas na prefeitura e entrevistas a funcionários caracterizou a
situação de todas as estruturas componentes da unidade de triagem, sua operação e situação do licenciamento e o
gerenciamento atual dos resÃduos no municÃpio. As informações levantadas em campo permitiram obter dados
sobre o gerenciamento de resÃduos, compreendendo a geração, acondicionamento, segregação, coleta, transporte,
tratamento e disposição final. Diante dos resultados obtidos pode-se observar que a UTC se encontra desativada
e em processo de degradação pelo fator tempo e pela ação do homem. Com relação ao gerenciamento de
resÃduos, evidenciaram falhas na operação do sistema e foram propostas medidas para adequação e recuperação
da unidade, com uma proposta para a elaboração do plano de gerenciamento integrado dos resÃduos sólidos, que
contribuirá consideravelmente para a eficiência do sistema de limpeza urbana do municÃpio, melhorando o bem
estar social e ambiental do municÃpio.
The work was aimed at diagnosing the current situation of sorting and composting unit (UTC) and check the
waste management currently practiced in the city of Bocaiuva-MG. Data from field surveys, and information
collected in interviews with city officials characterized the status of all components of structures sorting unit, its
operation and status of current licensing and management of waste in the municipality. The information
collected in the field allowed to obtain data on waste management, including the generation, packaging,
segregation, collection, transportation, treatment and final disposal. Results obtained can be observed that the
UTC is disabled and in the process of degradation and the time factor by human action. With regard to waste
management, showed flaws in the system operation, and proposed measures for adaptation and recovery unit,
with a proposal for the development of integrated management plan of solid waste, which will contribute
considerably to the efficiency of street cleaning the city, improving the social and environmental well-being of
the municipality.
