A brief comparative analysis of results and characteristics of universities in Peru (University
Census, 2010) with reference to the best universities internationally (Oppenheimer, 2010). It
allows us to alert the national conscience on the need for a change in university management
force. If nothing is done, we can say that in the future we will be worse than now, because it
will increase the negative gap. For best results in the medium term, it proposes a holistic
approach to university management. The proposed holistic approach considers two levels of
management, at a macro and a micro level. The university management macro links the
results of university education for sustainable development of each country and education in
general. The micro university management is to be developed within each institution at the
functional level.
Un breve análisis comparativo de los resultados y caracterÃsticas de las universidades en el
Perú (Censo Universitario 2010); con referencia a las mejores universidades a nivel
internacional (Oppenheimer, 2010). Nos permite alertar a la conciencia nacional, sobre la
necesidad de hacer un cambio en la gestión universitaria vigente. De no hacer nada, podemos
afirmar que a futuro vamos a estar peor que ahora, porque aumentará la brecha negativa. Para
lograr mejores resultados a mediano plazo, se propone un enfoque holÃstico de la gestión
universitaria. El enfoque holÃstico propuesto, considera dos niveles de gestión, uno a nivel
macro y otro a nivel micro. La macro gestión universitaria vincula los resultados de la
educación universitaria con el desarrollo sostenible de cada PaÃs y la educación en general. La
micro gestión universitaria, es la que debe desarrollarse al interior de cada Institución a nivel
funcional.
