O presente artigo trata das relações de poder envolvidas no processo judicial da Batalha do Irani contra José Fabrício das Neves e outros. Para tal, foi analisado o perfil socioeconômico dos depoentes, contextualizando com a realidade da sociedade brasileira do período. Foi possível identificar a forma como os sujeitos, arrolados no processo, percebiam o movimento do Contestado em sua fase inicial, identificando a influência destas ideias na produção historiográfica sobre a Guerra do Contestado.

The present article talks about the power relation involved in the judicial process of Irani Battle against José Fabrício das Neves and others. For that it was analysed the socioeconomical profile of deponents, contextualizing with the reality of Brazilian society from that period. It was possible to identify the way the subjects enrolled in the process noticed the Contestado movement in its initial phase, identifying the influence of these ideas in the historiographic production about the Contestado War.
