O presente estudo tem como objetivo analisar a historiografia sobre a Guerra do Paraguai a
partir da interlocução da historiografia nacional e regional (entende-se a historiografia
piauiense). Pretendemos dessa maneira, de forma concisa, expor as diferentes perspectivas
abordadas sobre o conflito, mostrar como foi interpretada pelo conhecimento histórico em
diferentes perÃodos. Num primeiro momento, a leitura sobre a guerra dá-se a partir de uma
perspectiva positivista; em seguida, o viés revisionista e então os novos afluxos oriundos da
nova história polÃtica e militar. Finalmente será mostrado como a historiografia piauiense
trabalhou o tema no passado recente.
The present study aims to analyze the historiography of the War of Paraguay from the
dialogue of national historiography and regional (means historiography PiauÃ). We intend this
manner, concisely exposing addressed deferent perspectives on the conflict, showing how it
has been interpreted by the historical knowledge in different periods. At first, reading about
war from a positivist perspective, then the bias revisionist and then from new inflows arising
from the new political and military history. Finally we will show how the historiography
piauiense worked the theme in the recent past.
