Este relato de experiência descreve a atividade realizada na Turma do 1º Ano “A” na EREM José de Almeida Maciel, localizada na cidade de Pesqueira-PE. A História da Matemática foi utilizada como ferramenta de suporte para realização desta proposta de atividade voltada ao ensino do Teorema de Tales. Os discentes trabalharam em grupo e também individualmente em atividades verificativas na lousa. Na realização desta atividade percebemos o entusiasmo que os estudantes mostraram ao conhecer a origem dos conteúdos. Também notamos que os questionamentos ocorreram no que diz respeito à utilidade dos conteúdos através do tempo. Notou-se uma evolução no aspecto de trabalho em equipe, na compreensão do conteúdo e também na interpretação de situações-problemas envolvendo o tema. Acreditamos que a História da Matemática torna-se imprescindível no processo de ensino-aprendizagem a partir da necessidade de compreensão do conhecimento matemático em diversos contextos, como exige a sociedade atual de seus integrantes.
This experience report describes the activity performed in the First Year Class "A" at the EREM José de Almeida Maciel, located in the city of Pesqueira-PE. The History of Mathematics was used as a support tool for the realization of this proposal of activity directed to the teaching of the Thales Theorem. The students worked in groups and also individually in verifying activities on the blackboard. In the accomplishment of this activity we perceive the enthusiasm that the students showed when knowing the origin of the contents. We also note that the questionings have occurred regarding the usefulness of content over time. There was an evolution in the aspect of teamwork, in the understanding of the content and also in the interpretation of situations-problems involving the theme. We believe that the History of Mathematics becomes essential in the teaching-learning process from the need to understand mathematical knowledge in various contexts, as the current society of its members requires
