Este trabalho busca apresentar as contribuições da História Oral e da memória na pesquisa realizada sobre a Faculdade Católica de Filosofia de Rio Grande (1960 - 1969), cuja criação marcou o início dos cursos superiores voltados à formação docente na cidade. Para tanto, ressalta as diferentes fases do trabalho com História Oral e o embasamento sobre a memória. Nesse sentido, tem como base os caminhos abertos pela História Cultural, os quais vêm propiciando a ampliação de problemas, objetos e temas de pesquisa histórica. Constata que a multiplicidade de histórias e memórias sobre a mencionada instituição educacional só foi descortinada devido à ampliação do olhar sobre as novas fontes de pesquisa.
This study aims to present the contributions of oral history and memory in the survey about the Catholic University of Philosophy in Rio Grande (1960-1969), which creation has been a mark point to the beginning of undergraduate courses focused on teacher’s formation in Rio Grande city. For this, highlights the different stages of work with oral history and the foundation on memory. In this sense, is based on the paths opened by the Cultural History, which come fostering expanded problems, objects and subjects of historical research. Notes that the multiplicity of stories and memories about the mentioned educational institution was only due to the expansion of descortinada look at new sources of research.
