O presente artigo objetiva discutir a partir de literaturas da historiografia a presença ou ocultação da classe trabalhadora na História. Além disso, visa apresentar algumas concepções que foram fundamentais para o início da discussão dos sujeitos comuns, tendo por base a reflexão do ofício do historiador e seu comprometimento com o meio social. Por seguinte, discutimos como a inserção da História oral metodologicamente e teoricamente tem auxiliado desde a década de 1990 a historiografia que se dedica a pesquisar os trabalhadores no Brasil.

Resumo Inglês:
The present article aims at discussing from the literatures of historiography the presence or concealment of the working class in History. In addition, it aims to present some conceptions that were fundamental to the beginning of the discussion of common subjects, based on the reflection of the office of the historian and his commitment to the social environment. Next, we discuss how the insertion of oral history methodologically and theoretically has assisted since the 1990s the historiography that is dedicated to researching workers in Brazil.
