O presente relato de experiência aborda a construção de uma horta e um pomar por membros do Engenheiros Sem Fronteiras – Núcleo Ouro Preto (ESF-OP) em um espaço cedido na Associação de Pais e Amigos dos Excepcionais (APAE) de Ouro Preto, MG. O conjunto de ações objetivou: a) desenvolver habilidades de gestão de projetos entre os membros do ESF-OP; b) intensificar a troca de experiências entre membros do ESF-OP e APAE; c) promover o aprendizado de noções básicas de horticultura, sustentabilidade e pequenas construções entre os membros participantes; d) estimular o desenvolvimento social de jovens da comunidade e da equipe; e e) estimular a produção e o consumo de alimentos agroecológicos. Participaram do projeto uma média de 16 membros do ESF-OP, no período entre maio e setembro de 2019. Para a execução do projeto, inicialmente foram levantadas as demandas da APAE em relação à horta. A seguir, foram realizados três mutirões com membros do projeto, nos quais foram executados: limpeza do terreno, fabricação da horta vertical e o plantio das mudas. As professoras da APAE reportaram satisfação com os novos vegetais, a limpeza e as oportunidades de aprendizagem mútua. O projeto também contribuiu para a integração dos participantes com o meio-ambiente e a comunidade.

The present experience report addresses the construction of a vegetable garden and an orchard by members of Engineers Without Borders-Ouro Preto (ESF-OP) in a space provided by the Association of Parents and Friends of Exceptional People (APAE) in Ouro Preto, MG. The set of actions aimed to: a) develop project management skills among ESF-OP members; b) intensify the exchange of experiences between members of ESF-OP and APAE; c) promote the learning of basic horticulture knowledge, sustainability and small constructions among the participating members; d) stimulate the social development of young people in the community and the team; and e) encourage the production and consumption of agroecological foods.
Approximately 16 members of the ESF

OP participated in the project, between May and September 2019. For
the execution of the project, the APAE's demands in relation to the vegetable garden
were initially raised.
Then, three community joint efforts were carried out by the members of the project, in which they performed
