This work presents the first results of a survey that is being carried out by the NESE / UNISINOS researchers group, aiming to update the data referring to the fossiliferous outcrops of the State of Rio Grande do Sul.
In this attempt he sought to recover the pioneering work of Zingano and Cauduro (1959) and Pinto and Closs (1967), who undertook a similar task, bringing contributions in the light of new knowledge in geology and the new discoveries made. With this, we want to provide students, researchers and community with a more appropriate and easy knowledge of those regions of our State that, due to their scientific value, deserve attention and care.
