Na presente abordagem, as representações midiáticas sobre a homossexualidade configuram pretextos para pensar o lugar da sexualidade nas igrejas cristãs. Com tal propósito, narrativas de adeptos da Igreja da Comunidade Metropolitana (ICM) de João Pessoa, Paraíba, sugerem uma possível (re) construção das identidades religiosas. A denominada “Igreja Inclusiva” desenvolve um trabalho litúrgico aberto à comunidade LGBT ao propor a afirmação das suas identidades culturais (BHABHA, 2005) e o enfrentamento dos estigmas (GOFFMAN, 1988). As interlocuções com os fiéis indicam sensibilidades e subjetividades em prol do pertencimento religioso e da valorização das alteridades à revelia de uma sociedade excludente e preconceituosa. Nesse sentido, o texto pretende colaborar para a compreensão das novas formas de religiosidade das minorias, propondo incursões midiáticas acerca da diversidade sexual para além da disseminação de estereótipos heteronormativos sobre o masculino ou o feminino.

In the present approach, the mediatic representations on homosexuality constitute pretexts to think about the place of sexuality in the Christian churches. With this purpose, narratives of supporters of the Metropolitan Community Church (ICM) in João Pessoa, Paraíba, suggest a possible (re) construction of religious identities. The socalled “Inclusive Church” develops a liturgical work open to the LGBT community by proposing the affirmation of their cultural identities (BHABHA, 2005) and the confrontment of stigmas (GOFFMAN, 1988). Interlocutions with the devotees indicate sensitivities and subjectivities in favor of religious belonging and the valuation of otherness in the absence of an exclusionary and prejudiced society. In this sense, the text intends to collaborate in the understanding of the new forms of religiosity of minorities, proposing mediatic incursions about sexual diversity in addition to the dissemination of heteronormative stereotypes about the masculine or feminine.
