Este escrito busca analisar, numa perspectiva interpretativa, os sonetos “A mulher I” e “A mulher II” da escritora portuguesa Florbela Espanca. Tentamos perceber como a representação da mulher vai sendo constituída nos versos florbelianos, analisando o aspecto feminino a partir de uma relação entre a biografia da poeta e as imagens femininas nos sonetos selecionados para esse trabalho. Os resultados desse artigo mostram-nos que o eu-lirico florbeliano exalta uma mulher apaixonada e forte, apesar do domínio masculino da época.

This paper seeks to analyze, in an interpretive perspective, the sonnets "The woman I" and "The woman II" of the Portuguese writer Florbela Espanca. We seek to understand how the representation of women is constituted in Florbelian verses, analyzing the feminine aspect from a relation between the biography of this poetess and the female images in the sonnets selected for this paper. The results of this article show us that the Flornelian lyrical self exalts a passionate and strong woman, despite the masculine domination of the time.
