Mostra-se que, mesmo em um experimento simples de atrito estático,
deve ser efetuada uma cuidadosa análise das incertezas experimentais,
incluindo erros estatÃsticos e de escala (instrumental),
bem como a propagação de erros, antes de uma conclusão
final a respeito das hipóteses adotadas sobre o atrito entre duas
superfÃcies secas. Utilizando uma montagem simples e de fácil
reprodutibilidade, apresenta-se uma série de resultados e análises
para o coeficiente de atrito estático.
It is shown that, even in a simple experiment of static friction, a
careful analysis of the experimental uncertainties, including statistical
and instrumental errors as well as the propagation of errors,
should be taken in to account before a final conclusion regarding
the usual hypothesis about friction between two dry surfaces. Using a simple and easily reproducible set up, we show a
series of results and analysis for the coefficient of static friction.
