Neste artigo, discutiremos a trajetória econômica da Argentina no governo de Carlos Meném. Enfatizamos o processo de desintegração da indústria nacional com a adoção das medidas neoliberais na economia, apoiadas pelas instituições financeiras internacionais, tais como o FMI e o Banco Mundial. Apesar de resolver o problema da hiperinflação, a adoção das práticas neoliberais, muito além de afetar a indústria doméstica, atingiu a população com o aumento do desemprego e da pobreza.
