Brazilian Journal of Biomotricity, v. 3, n. 4, p. 339-350, 2009. O objetivo do presente

stretching’s influence in muscle unbalance between hamstrings and quadríceps in football players. Brazilian
Journal of Biomotricity, v. 3, n. 4, p. 339-350, 2009. The aim of the present research was setting, through the
experimental intervention, the importance of the muscular reinforcement work and the prolongation on the
derangement between flexors and extensors of the knee, on the flexibility and reducing of the register of
muscular injuries in the football player athlete. Twenty-two players randomized on control and experimental
groups partook of the research that belongs to Junior category. The players were evaluated before and after
the intervention through the maximum weight test on the flexor table and extensor chair equipments, and of
the flexibility test on Wells bench. The experimental group was subjected to two sections a week of a
sequence of muscular reinforcement exercises, as well to a series composed by four stretching exercises
achieved on a static way. The control group did not achieve the sequence of exercises, partaking only of the
early determined trainings by the technical commission of the club. The experiment lasted fifteen weeks and
the variations were evaluated by the Independent Samples Student T test (p≤0.05). The results showed that
both groups presented a significantly increasing (p≤0.001) of muscular strength on both muscular grouping
involved. The experimental group developed 11,54% the rate of unbalance between flexors and extensors,
while the control group improved only 5,46%. As to the flexibility, there was no significant difference.
