Neste estudo foram analisadas as relações dos familiares com suas crianças que apresentavam dificuldades no desenvolvimento da linguagem. Objetivo: oferecer a estas famÃlias oportunidade de conversações sobre o problema que enfrentavam. Métodos: Pesquisa qualitativa com utilização da metodologia da pesquisa participante e grupos de multifamÃlias. Sujeitos: familiares de 12 famÃlias (um casal, nove mães e dois pais) de crianças com idade entre três e seis anos. A definição do grupo ocorreu pela presença de problemas comuns, a dificuldade de aquisição de linguagem nos filhos; identificada por meio de entrevista individual semiestruturada. A partir do que foram realizados sete encontros quinzenais, nos quais as famÃlias eram instigadas a conversar, mediadas por um orientador, em busca de alternativas de solução para suas dificuldades. In this study were analyzed the relations of relatives with their children who presented difficulties in language development. Goal: offer to these families a chance to talk about the problem that they faced. Methods: Qualitative research with use of the methodology of participant research and groups of multifamilies. Public: relatives of 12 families (a couple, nine mothers and two fathers) of children with age between three and six years old. The definition of the group occurred with the presence of common problems, difficulty of acquisition of language from their children; identified by means of half-structuralized individual interview. After that, seven biweekly meeting had been carried, in which the families were instigated to talk, mediated by a professional, looking for alternatives and solutions for their difficulties. The data had been analyzed by the analysis of speech and the observation of their behavior. Results: The qualitative analysis of the gotten data has indicated that the understanding of relatives about the problem of their children is, usually, related with beliefs and wrong conceptions. It generates problems and inadequates behaviors. The experience to receive care and the chance to talk about their difficulties with people who faced the same problems, showed a great significance for the participants and was an efficient resource for promotion of changes on their behavior. Final Considerations: The present study shows for professionals of this area, researchers and educators the need of ampler reflections on the prevention of problems on health.
