Objetivou-se elaborar uma revisão integrativa da literatura sobre a inserção do fisioterapeuta na promoção de saúde. Utilizou-se como fonte para a coleta de dados as bases eletrônicas SCIELO, LILACS, MEDLINE/PUBMED e os descritores: fisioterapia, promoção de saúde e saúde pública em português e inglês utilizando o operador booleano AND com duas combinações diferentes. Buscaram-se artigos sobre a inserção da fisioterapia na promoção de saúde, publicados em português e inglês, disponíveis na íntegra, entre osanos de 2008 a 2018. A pesquisa resultou em 11 artigos, que começaram ser publicados a partir de 2010 e que buscaram contribuir com a implementação e divulgação de uma nova proposta de promoção de saúde. As atividades de promoção de saúde foram diversas, a citar, o desenvolvimento de ações de educação em saúde e ações específicas como práticas de atividade física, desmistificando a perspectiva reabilitadora atrelada ao fisioterapeuta que gera altos custos para os serviços de saúde, esses fazeres dialogam com os preceitos da Política Nacional de Promoção da Saúde. A atuação da fisioterapia na perspectiva da promoção de saúde vem apresentando bons resultados, principalmente após a implementação do Núcleo Ampliado de Saúde da Família, entretanto, percebe-se ainda, pouco reconhecimento por parte da população quanto a importância desse profissional na Atenção Básica, assim como, a publicação de poucos estudos no âmbito da fisioterapia que abordem a atuação desses profissionais enquanto promotores de saúde.

The objective was to develop an integrative literature review on the insertion of the physiotherapist in health promotion.The electronic databases SCIELO, LILACS, MEDLINE / PUBMED and the descriptors: physiotherapy, health promotion and public health in Portuguese and English were used as a source for data collection using the Boolean operator AND with two different combinations. Articles on the insertion of physiotherapy in health promotion, published in Portuguese and English, available in full, between 2008 and 2018 were searched. The research resulted in 11 articles, which started to be published from 2010 and that soughtcontribute to the implementation and dissemination of a new health promotion proposal. The health promotion activities were diverse, to mention, the development of health education actions and specific actions such as physical activity practices, demystifying the rehabilitation perspective linked to the physiotherapist that generates high costs for health services, these actions dialogue with the precepts of the National Health Promotion Policy. The performance of physiotherapy in the perspective of healthpromotion has been showing good results, especially after the implementation of the Extended Family Health Center, however, there is still little recognition by the population regarding the importance of this professional in Primary Care, as well as the publication of few studies in the scope of physiotherapy that address the performance of these professionals as health promoters.
