A pesquisa busca compreender a partir da visão do policial seus discursos
sobre legalidade, sentimento do dever e risco, realizada por meio de entrevistas
semiestruturadas com policiais com experiências em ocorrências com
letalidade, comparando com os discursos de outros que não passaram por essa
experiência. Os resultados demonstram como os discursos institucionais sobre
a utilização da força policial corrobora para a distorções na compreensão da
função policial e consequentemente o aumento da violência. Com base nos resultados
obtidos nas entrevistas e sua correlação com a literatura de Foucault
(2012) e Agamben (2010) vamos compreender que o policial da região metropolitana
de Belém usa a força letal como meio de defesa, amparado no discurso
jurídico da legítima defesa, mesmo que nos relatos não se apresente a devida
necessidade, estando convicto de que esta é a melhor opção para se proteger
e proteger a sociedade, pois a morte do “ser matável” apresenta uma função
social que afasta a criminalização da conduta policial.
This research seeks to understand the perspective and opinions of
police officers on legality, feeling of duty and risk. It was carried out through
semi-structured interviews with police officers with experiences in cases with
lethality, comparing with the speeches of others who did not experience such
cases. The results demonstrate how institutional discourses on the use of police
force corroborate the distortions in the understanding of the police function and
consequently, the increase of violence. Based on the results obtained in the interviews
and their correlation with the literature of Foucault (2012) and Agamben
(2010) we will understand that the police officers of the metropolitan area of Belém,
use lethal force as a means of defense. They are supported by the legal
discourse of self-defense, even if the reports do not present the necessary need,
being convinced that this is the best course of action to protect themselves and
the society, because the death of the "killable being"has a social function that
supposedly removes the criminalization of the police conduct.
