INTERDISCIPLINARIDADE: DESAFIOS NA CONSTRUÇÃO DO CONHECIMENTO GERONTOLÓGICO

Este artigo traz algumas reflexões que foram motivadas e mobilizadas por nossa preocupação em verificar como vêm sendo operados (ou significados), na área da Gerontologia, os conhecimentos, conceitos, teorizações com respectivos mecanismos descritivos e explicativos advindos de áreas diversas em torno da questão do envelhecimento, da velhice, da pessoa idosa. Tal preocupação em como lidar com conhecimentos de cada área, convergindo a um mesmo objeto específico de estudo, a chamada perspectiva “interdisciplinar”, que vem aparecendo em várias áreas do conhecimento, mostra a atualidade do conceito de Interdisciplinaridade e a necessidade de se pensar mais sobre como ele é concebido na Gerontologia, o domínio acadêmico-profissional no qual encontramos nossas referências.

Resumo Inglês:

This paper offers some thoughts that have been mobilized and motivated
by the concern to check the process of building knowledge,
concepts and theories in the field of Gerontology, based on reasons
explained in several areas, focused on research on the issue
of aging, old age, and elder. The incorporation of disciplinary
knowledge, converging on one particular object of study, characterized
the prospect “interdisciplinary” knowledge building, which nowadays
challenges us to return to the concept of interdisciplinarity and its
applicability in Gerontology, focusing the discussion of academic reality
and professional development of studies on aging and old age.
The main results show that, despite the difficulties of implementation
of interdisciplinary, are procedures exercitation this approach in
academic projects proposed to formalize this empowering scientific
practice, essential given the complexity of the contemporary world.
The Program of Postgraduate Studies in Gerontology at PUC-SP is
identified as one of the ways to achieve the incorporation of interdisciplinary,
for having been made since then in an interdisciplinary and
emphasize the importance of this approach and continually exercise
in the development of studies and research on aging and old age.
