Este artigo tem como objetivo discutir e refletir sobre a Internacionalização do ensino superior em países de terceiro mundo como o Brasil, principalmente no extremo norte do país, no intuito de contribuir para a área de formação de professores de línguas adicionais. Apresentamos uma perspectiva sociocultural e histórica dos termos globalização e internacionalização discutidas por alguns autores (OCTAVIO IANNI,2010; JANE KNIGHT, 2003; PHILIP ALTABACH,2002, 2006; STUART HALL,2006; MOROSINI, 2006 dentre outros) como também, uma relação de interdependência entre o advento da globalização, a internacionalização e as identidades sociais e culturais do sujeito pós-moderno.
This article aims to discuss and analyze the internationalization of higher education in third world countries such as Brazil, in order to contribute to the area of teaching and learning additional languages. We present a sociocultural and historical perspective of the terms globalization and internationalization discussed by some authors (OCTAVIO IANNI, 2010, JANE KNIGHT, 2003, PHILIP ALTABACH, 2002, 2006, STUART HALL, 2006, MOROSINI, 2006). As well as the interdependence between the advent of globalization, internationalization and the social and cultural identities of the postmodern human being.
