Partindo de uma visão funcionalista da linguagem, este artigo procura compreender o uso das Interrogativas de Conteúdo, ou Interrogativas-Qu, em elocuções formais do português brasileiro. Especificamente, investigam-se os diferentes propósitos a que se serve o uso dessas estruturas no gênero textual selecionado de forma a estabelecer uma tipologia, ou classificação, para elas. Com base nos princípios teóricometodológicos da Gramática Discursivo-Funcional (HENGEVEL e MACKENZIE, 2008), e concentrando-se na configuração do operador de identificabilidade atribuído ao Subato Referencial interrogativo, no Nível Interpessoal, propõe-se uma tipologia tripartida para as Interrogativas de Conteúdo: perguntas típicas, perguntas retóricas e perguntas meditativas. Como material de análise, selecionaram-se as amostras de elocuções formais do corpus mínimo do Projeto Gramática do Português Falado, composto a partir de inquéritos do NURC/Brasil. As elocuções formais, por sua vez, consistem em aulas de nível superior gravadas nas seguintes capitais brasileiras: São Paulo, Porto Alegre, Recife, Rio de Janeiro e Salvador.
Following a functional perspective of language, this paper aims to understand the use of Content Interrogatives, or Wh-Interrogatives, in formal elocutions in Brazilian Portuguese. Specifically, we investigate the different purposes involved in the use of these structures in the selected textual genre in order to propose a classification for them. With the principles of Functional Discourse Grammar (HENGEVELD; MACKENZIE, 2008), and taking into account the configuration of the operator of identifiability applied to the interrogative Referential Subact, in the Interpersonal Level, we propose a tripartite typology to the Content Interrogatives: typical questions, rhetoric questions and meditative questions. To build the material of analyses, it’s selected a sample of formal elocutions from the minimum corpus of Gramática do Português Falado Project, composed by interviews from NURC/Brazil. The formal elocutions are classes for high school or colleges recorded in the following Brazilian capitals: São Paulo, Porto Alegre, Recife, Rio de Janeiro e Salvador.
