The European Union is engaged in real legislative reform to establish an effective structure to combat fraud whose main objective is the protection of the financial interests of the European Union, are committed the criminal cooperation organs –Europol, Eurojust- and bodies specialized in the fight against fraud in the administrative field–OLAF-. This structure will be complemented by the start-up of the European Public Prosecutor’s Office, which will be the body that will bring together the criminal investigations of fraud.
La Unión Europea está inmersa en una verdadera reforma legislativa para establecer una estructura eficaz de lucha contra el fraude. En esta finalidad, cuyo principal objetivo es la protección de los intereses financieros de la Unión Europea, se encuentran comprometidos los órganos de cooperación penal –Europol, Eurojust- y órganos especializados en la lucha contra el fraude en el ámbito administrativo –OLAF-. Esta estructura se completará con la puesta en marcha de la Fiscalía Europea, que será el órgano que aglutinará las competencias penales de investigación del fraude.
