Objetivou-se refletir sobre a presença da Educação Física nos InstitutosFederais, a partir de uma análise da literatura composta por teses e dissertações, demodo a compreender as narrativas que orientam essa área de conhecimento. Comisso, alinha-se a uma revisão integrativa, de abordagem qualitativa e cunhoexploratório. Foram localizados 154 estudos, todavia, somente 53 se enquadraramnos critérios estabelecidos. O material empírico foi submetido à análise temática. Osachados demonstraram que a Educação Física enquanto disciplina do Ensino Médiosofreu fortes influências do viés tradicional e técnico, porém se nota novasperspectivas para o ensino sob a visão das tendências críticas. Em relação àlicenciatura em Educação Física, conclui-se que há uma insuficiência de reflexões einvestigações no cenário dos Institutos.
The objective was to reflect on the presence of Physical Education inFederal Institutes, based on an analysis of the literature composed of theses anddissertations, in order to understand the narratives that guide this area of knowledge.With this, it aligns with an integrative review, with a qualitative approach and anexploratory nature. A total of 154 studies were found, however, only 53 met theestablished criteria. The empirical material was subjected to thematic analysis. Thefindings showed that Physical Education as a High School subject was stronglyinfluenced by traditional and technical bias, but new perspectives for teaching can beseen from the point of view of critical trends. Regarding the degree in PhysicalEducation, it is concluded that there is a lack of reflections and investigations in thescenario of the Institutes
