Este artigo pretende apresentar os primeiros resultados de uma pesquisa que buscou investigar quais são as escolhas de leitura de jovens estudantes do Ensino Médio, particularmente aquelas relativas ao universo da ficção e da Literatura canônica. Somam-se a esses, dados relativos aos motivos do desinteresse pela leitura de literatura bem como as motivações que aproximariam o jovem dos livros. Vinculada aos estudos do letramento literário, a pesquisa pretende contribuir com as discussões acerca da formação de leitores na escola, com foco nas práticas de ensino e promoção da leitura.
This article aims at presenting preliminary results of a research which investigated the reading choices of young high school students, particularly those related to the universe of fiction and canonic literature. In addition to this, the research explores data related to the reasons associated with the lack of interest in reading literature as well as positive motivations that approach young readers and books. Linked to studies on literary literacy, the research intends to contribute with discussions about the formation of readers in school, focusing on teaching practices and on the dissemination of reading.
