No Brasil, a obra de Axel Honneth, por ora, ainda é pouco divulgada. Em circulação nacional,
existem alguns artigos em periódicos, raros capÃtulos em livros e apenas duas obras do autor
traduzidas para o português. O objetivo precÃpuo é apresentar neste artigo uma sÃntese sobre a
obra e trajetória de Honneth, considerado, atualmente, o representante da terceira geração da
“Escola de Frankfurtâ€. Em especial, é também objetivo deste artigo oferecer subsÃdios
introdutórios para aqueles que tenham interesse em conhecer sua Teoria do Reconhecimento,
bem como para refletir sobre a validade de tal abordagem na compreensão das
conflitualidades urbanas atuais.
In Brazil, Axel Honneth`sworkmanshipis, still in a while, a little divulged. There are some
articles on periodics, rare chapters in books and only twobooks from the author translated to
Portuguese, all of these in national circulation. The main objective is giving a synthesis about
Honneth’s Work and trajectory. Currently he is considered the representative of the third
generation of “Frankfurt school†in the European academy. In special, to offer introductory
subsidies to everyone who is interested in knowing his Theory of Recognition as well as a
good reflection on the validity of such approach in the understanding of the current urban
conflictualities.
