Tomando como base a variedade dos discursos formadores de uma representação das identidades e das tradições culturais do maracatu do Ceará, e mais especificamente os maracatus de Fortaleza, problematizaremos as formas de circulação destes discursos a partir de registros documentais compreendidos entre os anos de 1980 e 2012. Investigaremos a repercussão da relação dos maracatus fortalezenses com as ações institucionalizantes nas polÃticas públicas culturais, e no concurso carnavalesco, contribuindo no jogo das formações das identidades e tradições culturais dos maracatus na contemporaneidade. Analisaremos, neste trabalho, também, o atual debate sobre a possibilidade de registro desta manifestação enquanto bem cultural de natureza imaterial da cidade de Fortaleza e do Brasil.
Based on the variety of discourses forming a representation of identities and cultural traditions of maracatu of Ceará, and more specifically Fortaleza‟s maracatus, we question the forms of circulation of these discourses from documentary records among 1980 and 2012. We investigate the effect of relationship the Fortaleza‟s maracatus with the institutionalizing acts of public cultural policies, and carnivalesque contest, contributing in the game of formations of identities and cultural traditions of maracatus nowadays. It is analyzed in this work also the current debate about the possibilities to record this event as cultural intangible (cultural heritage) of Fortaleza and Brazil.
