Atualmente a mídia e a sociedade impõe que devemos ter uma imagem perfeita sem imperfeições corporais, o que justifica o aumento pela procura por massagens modeladora no mundo da estética. A lipodistrofia localizada consiste no acúmulo de gorduras em certas regiões do corpo, podendo ser reduzida através da massagem modeladora, um dos procedimentos existentes para tratar essa disfunção. O presente estudo de cunho bibliográfico tem por objetivo descrever os benefícios que a massagem modeladora traz no tratamento da adiposidade localizada analisando os diferentes métodos empregados no tratamento visando à melhoria da autoestima assim como a qualidade de vida do paciente
Currently, the media and society demand that we have a perfect image without body imperfections, which justifies the increase in demand for body shaping massages in the world of aesthetics. Localized lipodystrophy consists of the accumulation of fat in certain areas of the body, and can be reduced through body shaping massage, one of the existing procedures to treat this dysfunction. This bibliographic study aims to describe the benefits that body shaping massage brings in the treatment of localized adiposity, analyzing the different methods used in the treatment aiming at improving the patient's self-esteem as well as quality of life.
