O presente trabalho tem o objetivo de avaliar as contribuições de um projeto de extensão sobre Matemática Financeira para os empreendedores da região de Ituiutaba-MG. A iniciativa procurou ensinar a utilização dos benefícios da Matemática Financeira com o uso da calculadora HP-12C, a fim de melhorar a gestão econômico-financeira nos negócios e nas finanças pessoais. Buscou, também, inserir estudantes de cursos de graduação no meio empresarial, a partir da troca de experiências com os empreendedores, aliando teoria à prática gerencial. Trata-se de uma pesquisa descritiva, com o uso de levantamento e abordagem quantitativa. A coleta dos dados foi feita por meio da utilização de questionários aplicados aos participantes do projeto de extensão. Os resultados mostraram que a avaliação da ação extensionista foi positiva, trazendo contribuições para os empreendedores locais no que diz respeito à melhoria de decisões pessoais, tais como: planejar o futuro; investir o dinheiro; comprar à vista ou a prazo; contratar um empréstimo pessoal; fazer um financiamento imobiliário; e decisões profissionais, quais sejam: como investir os recursos disponíveis na empresa; planejar o futuro do negócio; contratar empréstimos; analisar o próprio negócio; identificar recursos mais atraentes no mercado, dentre outras.

The present study aims to evaluate the contributions of an extension project on financial mathematics for entrepreneurs in the region of Ituiutaba/MG. The project aimed to teach entrepreneurs to utilize the benefits of financial mathematics using the HP-12C calculator for improving the economic and financial management in their businesses and personal finances. He sought, too, students entering undergraduate courses in business through the exchange experiences with the entrepreneurs, combining theory with practice management. This is a descriptive study using survey and a quantitative approach. Data collection has been done through the use of questionnaires to the participants of the extension project. The results proved that the evaluation of the project was positive, bringing contributions to local entrepreneurs as regards the improvement of personal decisions, such as planning for the future, how to invest money, buy the spot or forward, hire a personal loan; make a mortgage, and professional decisions, namely: how to invest the resources available in the company, the business plan for the future; borrow, analyze their own business, to identify the most attractive features on the market, among others.
