Esse artigo é fruto da monografia MAUS: A Memória do Holocausto nas Histórias em Quadrinhos, produzida no âmbito das discussões realizadas no Grupo De Estudos Do Tempo Presente (GET), e tem como objetivo realizar uma discussão sobre a nova categoria literária cunhada após o término do silêncio dos sobreviventes do Holocausto: A Literatura de Testemunho. Sob a luz de reflexões dos historiadores Márcio Seligmann-Silva e Roney Cytrynowicz, e tendo como motor dialógico a história em quadrinhos MAUS (1986-1991), de Art Spiegelman, enfatizaremos os porquês do não dizer por parte das testemunhas, ao momento da quebra do silêncio; em seguida analisaremos a nova categoria literária propriamente dita, e os dilemas nascidos da confluência entre a tarefa individual da narrativa do trauma, da corrente negacionista, e, por fim, da não-possibilidade representativa do Holocausto.

This article is the result of the monograph MAUS: The Memory of the Holocaust in Comic Books, produced as part of discussions at the Study Group Present Time (GET), and aims to make a discussion about the new literary category appeared after the end of the silence of Holocaust survivors: The Literature of Testimony. Under the light of reflections of historians Márcio Seligmann-Silva and Cytrynowicz Roney, and having as the dialogic engine Comic Book MAUS (1986-1991), by Art Spiegelman, we emphasize the reasons of “not saying” by witnesses to the moment of “breaking the silence” and then analyze the new literary category itself, and the dilemmas raised from the confluence of the individual task of the narrative of trauma, the Holocaust deniers and, finally, the representative impossibility of the Holocaust.
