Memória, historicidade e vínculos territoriais após quarenta anos da transferência dos Kaiabi para o Parque do Xingu

Este artigo apresenta uma análise fundada em bases fenomenológicas
a respeito dos relacionamentos ecológicos e afetivos
que os Kaiabi do Parque do Xingu estabelecem com a região do
rio Teles Pires, no estado de Mato Grosso. Após quatro décadas de
separação de seu ambiente ancestral, os Kaiabi (em especial os habitantes
das aldeias Ilha Grande e Tuiararé) ainda encontram artifícios
de memória, história oral e relações de parentesco para se sentirem
próximos – ainda que distantes fi sicamente – de seus parentes e do
lugar que seus antepassados habitaram e que guarda boa parte dos
acontecimentos míticos relevantes na criação de seu povo.

This paper presents an analysis established on phenomenological
foundations concerning the ecological and affective
relationships that the Kaiabi of the Xingu Park establish with the
region of the Teles Pires river, in the state of Mato Grosso. After four
decades of separation from their ancestral environment, the Kaiabi
(specially the inhabitants of the villages of Ilha Grande and Tuiararé)
still fi nd strategies of memory, oral history and kinship relations to
feel closer - despite being physically distant - to their relatives and
the place that their ancestors inhabited and that preserves a good part
of the relevant mythical events regarding the creation of the Kaiabi.
