Neste artigo analisamos a construção histórica das práticas e representações femininas, a partir da releitura das lembranças de três mulheres idosas que começaram a participar da Igreja Evangélica Congregacional de Campina Grande entre as décadas de 1930 a 1960, isto é, desde a infância ou juventude. Nas suas memórias suscitaram imagens de práticas femininas e masculinas tanto de si como dos outros membros da comunidade congregacional de Campina Grande. Dessa forma foram retomadas as imagens de mulheres “transgressoras†ou “obedientes†no âmbito da fé, das relações amorosas, do cuidado com o corpo e os divertimentos.

This article analyzes the historical construction practices and representations
of women, from the re-reading the memories of three elderly women began to
participate in the Evangelical Congregational Church of Campina Grande between the
decades from 1930 to 1960, that is, from childhood or youth. In his memoirs elicited
images of both male and female practices of self as the other members of the
congregation of Campina Grande. Thus the images were taken of women "transgressive" or "obedient" in the context of faith, love relationships, body care and
recreation.
