MODELAGEM MATEMÁTICA COMO PROCESSO PARA O DESENVOLVIMENTO DOS PENSAMENTOS ANALÍTICO E REFLEXIVO

O presente artigo é um recorte de uma dissertação de mestrado Souza (2019) e tem como objetivo apresentar potencialidades do uso da Modelagem Matemática no desenvolvimento dos pensamentos analítico e reflexivo dos estudantes. Neste estudo exploratório, descrevemos e analisamos as relações estabelecidas, ao longo de nove encontros, por um grupo de jovens da 1ª série do Ensino Médio de uma escola particular da cidade de São Paulo, na investigação de um tema de seu interesse: Aquecimento Global. Os estudos, discussões e análise das respostas a um questionário apontaram que as atividades desenvolvidas e as relações estabelecidas durante o processo proporcionaram uma ampla visão do alcance da matemática, principalmente em relação à conexão do mundo real com as ferramentas utilizadas tradicionalmente em sala de aula. Ao final do projeto , foi possível constatar que o caminho da modelagem matemática se constitui uma opção acessível e viável para desenvolver os pensamentos analítico e reflexivo do estudante.

This article is an excerpt from a master's dissertation Souza (2019), which aims to present the potential of Mathematical Modeling in the development of student's analytical and reflective thought. In this exploratory study, we describe and analyze the relationships established, over nine meetings, by a group of students in the 1st grade of high school at a private school in the city of São Paulo, in the investigation of a topic of their interest: Global Warming.The studies, discussions, and analysis throughout the answers to a questionnaire pointed out that the activities developed and the relationships establishe during the process provided a broad view of the scope of mathematics, mainly about the connection between the real world and the tools traditionally used in the classroom. At the end of the project, it was possible to certify that the path of mathematical modeling establishes an accessible and viable option to develop the student's analytical and reflective thoughts.
