The urbanization imposes modifications in the local climate compromising the own atmosphere of the city and originating the urban climate. In order to verify the existence of urban climate in Santa Maria, climatic analyzes of temperature, wind and relative humidity were performed through data collected in field work and in meteorological stations, associated to those of the regional atmospheric circulation. The results obtained and the examples contained in the national and international literature, together with the analysis of local geological and geological components, made possible a modeling of urban climate for Santa Maria, located in the central region of the State of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.
