A pesquisa teve como objetivo analisar artigos publicados entre 1999-2018 para examinar as produções científicas norteadoras dos motivos que levam os idosos a não se vacinarem. Para esse fim, foram acessadas as bases de dados das Ciências de Saúde em geral, Literatura Latino-Americana e do Caribe (LILACS), Sistema Online de Busca e Análise de Literatura Médica (MEDLINE) e Base de dados de enfermagem (BDENF). Foram empregados, ainda, os descritores: “vacina”, “idoso”, de acordo com os descritores em ciências da saúde (DECS) para favorecer a procura por referências e simultaneamente, restringir o material a ser estudado. Com intuito de análise dos artigos foi levado em consideração os seguintes critérios inclusão: artigos originais, dissertação de mestrado no período de 1999 a 2018, no idioma português. Não foram incluídas produções sem disponibilidade do artigo na íntegra, recusa de vacinas que não fosse com os idosos, artigos duplicados, documento de projeto, monografias, tese de doutorado, recurso da internet, artigo de revisão, resultando em 4 obras publicadas. Posteriormente a leitura integral dos artigos escolhidos, foram identificados alguns dos motivos que levam os idosos a não se vacinarem, o que nos leva a ter conhecimento de tais fatos. Uma das restrições da pesquisa se deu ao fato da privação de publicações cientificas sobre o tema, e a falta de interesse por parte da enfermagem de explanar a importância da vacinação para os idosos.
The objective of the research was to analyze articles published between 1999 and 2018 to examine the scientific productions guiding the reasons that lead the elderly not to get vaccinated. To this end, the databases of the Health Sciences in general, Latin American and Caribbean Literature (LILACS), the Online Medical Literature Search and Analysis System (MEDLINE) and the Nursing Database (BDENF) were accessed. The descriptors: "vaccine", "elderly", according to the descriptors in the health sciences (DECS) were used to favor the search for references and simultaneously, to restrict the material to be studied. In order to analyze the articles, the following inclusion criteria were taken into account: original articles, master dissertation from 1999 to 2018, in the Portuguese language. We did not include productions without availability of the full article, refusal of vaccines other than the elderly, duplicate articles, project document, monographs, doctoral thesis, internet resource, review article, resulting in 4 published works. After the complete reading of the chosen articles, some of the reasons that lead the elderly not to get vaccinated were identified, which leads us to know about these facts. One of the restrictions of the research was the lack of scientific publications on the subject and the lack of interest on the part of the nursing to explain the impor tance of vaccination for the elderly.
