A busca por um refúgio além das fronteiras tem se tornado inevitável a uma parcela da população mundial, vitimada pelas guerras internas e externas de seu país de origem. As convenções e tratados em prol dos refugiados e imigrantes estabeleceram fundamentos legais para ajuda internacional e humanitária. Contudo, a despeito das leis, são grandes as reais necessidades dos imigrantes em território brasileiro. Além de regularizar a situação jurídica do imigrante, cabe ao Estado e à sociedade, proporcionar-lhes condições para efetivamente se estabelecerem no país como legítimos cidadãos. A pesquisa ouviu imigrantes oriundos da Venezuela, Gana, Nigéria e Gabão e analisou seus dilemas e conflitos.

The search for a refuge beyond borders has become inevitable for a share of the world's population, victimized by the internal and external wars of their country of origin. Refugee and immigrant conventions and treaties have laid legal founda-tions for international and humanitarian aid. However, despite the laws, the real needs of immigrants in Brazilian territory are big. In addition to regularizing the legal status of the immigrant, it is up to the state and society to provide them with conditions to effectively establish themselves in the country as legitimate citizens. The survey focused on immigrants from Venezuela, Ghana, Nigeria and Gabon and analyzed their dilemmas and conflicts

La búsqueda de un refugio más allá de las fronteras se ha vuelto inevitable para una parte de la población mundial, víctima de las guerras internas y externas de su país de origen. Los convenios y tratados sobre refugiados e inmigrantes han sentado las bases legales de la ayuda internacional y humanitaria. Sin embargo, a pesar de las leyes, las necesidades reales de los inmigrantes en territorio brasileño son grandes. Además de regularizar el estatus legal del inmigrante, corresponde al Estado y a la sociedad proporcionarles las condiciones para establecerse efectivamente en el país como ciudadanos legítimos. La encuesta escuchó a inmigrantes de Venezuela, Ghana, Nigeria y Gabón y analizó sus dilemas y conflictos.
