O rápido aumento de esgoto gerado pelos municÃpios e a necessidade de medidas para
a disposição e tratamento têm levado à expansão de tratamentos alternativos como o
sistema de escoamento à superfÃcie. A disposição de esgoto doméstico na superfÃcie do
solo provoca importantes mudanças nas caracterÃsticas fÃsicas, quÃmicas e morfológicas.
O principal produto responsável por estas mudanças é a presença de grande quantidade
de carbono orgânico presente no esgoto doméstico.
The rapid increase of wastewater worldwide and the needed treatment
measures towards disposal purpose has lead to an expansion of alternative
treatment as overland flow process. The wastewater disposal in the soil surface
is responsible to promote important changes in the physical, chemical and
morphological characteristics. The mainly product responsible by this change is
the high contents of organic carbon presents in the domestic wastewater.
