MUSEU ITINERANTE DE ANATOMIA ANIMAL: UM INCENTIVO AO DESENVOLVIMENTO DA EDUCAÇÃO SOCIAL E AMBIENTAL

É notável a deficiência no ensino das escolas públicas brasileiras, sobretudo, no que é concernente à qualidade e a quantidade das aulas práticas realizadas nesses estabelecimentos. Em muitas escolas a grade curricular é totalmente preenchida com aulas teóricas, prejudicando o aprendizado dos alunos. O Museu Itinerante de Anatomia Animal, através do Núcleo de Pesquisa de Anatomia Animal da Universidade Federal do Vale do São Francisco (UNIVASF), com suas exposições nas escolas públicas municipais e estaduais de Petrolina, Estado de Pernambuco, objetiva estimular, em alunos e professores, uma visão prática das ciências biológicas, para que possam conhecer as estruturas e o funcionamento do corpo animal. Acrescido à apresentação de peças anatômicas, os alunos recebem explanações referentes à educação e responsabilidade ambiental, tentando reduzir a retirada de animais da natureza, incutindo o conceito de posse responsável de animais de estimação e, além disso, é incentivado também, o uso da prática da reciclagem do lixo doméstico. Outro aspecto importante deste projeto é transpor as barreiras existentes entre a sociedade e a universidade, pois em virtude da grande desigualdade social e do analfabetismo local, muitos acreditam que a academia é uma realidade distante. Os resultados obtidos até o presente momento demonstram que os alunos assimilam maior quantidade de informações quando podem ter a idéia tridimensional dos órgãos e sistemas biológicos apresentados em livros didáticos, corroborando com a afirmação de Confúcio: “Ouvi, esqueci. Vi, me lembrei. Fiz, aprendi.”, uma vez que existe a interação e a manipulação das crianças com o acervo do museu.

It’s remarkable the deficiency in public teaching of Brazilian schools, especially, when it’s concerning to quantity and quality of practical classes in these schools. The curricular subjects in schools are totally filled with theoretical classes that are damaging the students’ learning. The Itinerant Museum of Animal Anatomy through the nucleus of Animal Anatomy Research of the Federal University of Vale do São Francisco (UNIVASF), with its exhibition in public municipal and state schools of Petrolina, Pernambuco State, aims to encourage students and teachers for practice view of biological science so that they are able to know the structure and the operation of animal body. In addition to the presentation of anatomy parts the students get explanation about education and environmental responsibility trying to reduce to the retreat of animal of nature. Inserting a concept of responsible possession of pets. Besides, it has encouraged the practice of recycling the house’ hold garbage. Other important aspects in this project is to overcome barriers that there are between society and university. It happens because of the wide social inequality and local illiteracy that makes people believe that the academy is a distant reality. The results that they got until this moment show that students assimilate a great deal of information when they can have a tridimensional idea of organs and biological systems that were show up in education boors. As Confucius said: “I heard, but I forgot it, I saw, I remembered it, I did it, I learnt it, once there is a perfect interaction when the children manipulate the objects of the museum.
