Neste artigo pretendo abordar a construção do campo
polÃtico fluminense, particularmente da Baixada
Fluminense (RJ), uma área conhecida pela pobreza e
violência, a partir da trajetória de um conhecido, e ativo,
polÃtico local: Jorge Gama. Sua trajetória permite-nos
perceber ao longo da história local e regional como as
imagens e representações sobre a região Baixada alteram e
re-inventam as diversas concepções acerca da polÃtica e
do fazer polÃtico. A mediação polÃtica e cultural é trazida
como uma das caracterÃsticas de sua persona e condição
de possibilidade de sua manutenção no mundo da polÃtica.
In this article I intend to present the construction of the
Fluminense political field, particularly the Baixada
Fluminense (RJ), an area known for poverty and violence,
from the trajectory of a known and active local political:
Jorge Gama. His trajectory allows us to understand the
local and regional history as the images and
representations on the Baixada change and re-invent the
different conceptions of politics. The political and cultural
mediation is brought as one of the characteristics of his
persona and condition of possibility of his maintaining in
the political world.
